Located in the hills above Lugano, this villa in Vezia immediately revealed its hidden potential despite its dated and uninspiring interiors.
The renovation and interior design process lasted two years and involved extensive structural alterations to improve both functionality and spatial flow. The original staircase was narrow and steep, so it was widened and redesigned to create a more elegant architectural feature. A small guest bathroom at the entrance was removed to make space for a custom-built wardrobe, while an oversized and underutilised foyer was transformed into a spacious master en-suite bathroom.
The villa features three bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room and a dedicated home office.
Surrounded by woodland and bordering a protected natural reserve, the property enjoys exceptional privacy and a strong connection with nature.
The interior design follows an eclectic yet timeless approach. The abundance of natural light inspired us to keep the walls crisp white, creating bright and welcoming interiors. We introduced classic wall mouldings, elegant British-style windows and dark fluted wood panelling, a contemporary element that becomes a recurring design feature throughout the house, tying all the spaces together with warmth and sophistication.
